Commitment

1

The size of the bonito

In spring, young 2-3kg first-catch bonito; in autumn, richly fatty 4-5kg returning bonito, carefully selected by season.

2

Raw bonito from Kochi

Most Kochi bonito is pole-and-line caught, leaving it beautiful and undamaged. We ship our select bonito direct from the port.

3

Straw from Shiga

We use straw hand-cut ourselves from vast contracted fields in Shiga. Dried straw burns hot with the finest smoky aroma.

4

The grilling

Over straw flames reaching 1000 degrees, we sear a crust about 5mm into the flesh, then finish with residual heat to lock in flavor.

5

The thickness of the cut

Cut over 1cm thick so the straw aroma fills your mouth, brimming with bonito flavor and a springy texture.

6

Our chosen salt

A fully sun-dried salt handmade by artisans from Kochi seawater. We select larger crystals for a mellow mineral taste.

Service

01

Robata & Warayaki

Bonito from Kochi and Omi beef from Shiga, grilled over straw right before you. Seasonal fish and vegetables draw out their fullest flavor over charcoal.

02

Sake & Local Brews

A generous selection of sake chosen from across Japan, including local Shiga brews — from dry to sweet. Our staff suggest the one glass that suits your dish, so you can enjoy sake tasting in Moriyama.

03

Seafood & Sashimi

Fresh fish shipped straight from the port, finished into sashimi by skilled hands. Enjoy the seafood of Moriyama in seasonal plates such as our five-kind sashimi platter.

04

Omi Beef & Omi Chicken

Shiga's specialty Omi beef, straw-grilled or miso-marinated, and overnight-dried Omi chicken. Enjoy Shiga's premium ingredients dynamically over charcoal in Moriyama.

05

Private Rooms & Banquets

Fully private tatami rooms for 2–20 guests, banquet courses with free-flow drinks, and full-venue bookings for 30–40. Steps from Moriyama Station — ideal for company parties and gatherings.

How to enjoy Robata

Robata Story

01

Watch the fire from the ground floor counter

The straw grilling happens on the ground floor. From the counter the flames are close at hand, and the crackle of burning straw carries to the table and terrace seats.

02

One slice, the moment it arrives

Take it plain first. The contrast between the smoke-wrapped surface and the moist flesh left inside is the first thing worth noticing.

03

A second pass with condiments, salt and citrus

Change direction halfway through the plate. Rock salt and citrus lighten the finish on straw-grilled Omi beef and on richly fatty bonito alike.

04

Upstairs on the tatami, take your time with sake

Upstairs there are three fully enclosed tatami rooms with walls and doors, each seating seven to ten guests. Out of view, you can linger over Shiga sake from dry to sweet.

Host a Worry-Free Private Event in Moriyama: Special Banquets with Full Allergy Support

What Food Worries Can Spoil a Private Event in Moriyama?

Are you looking for a private event venue in Moriyama? A private space is an incredibly appealing option for large gatherings or for spending special time with family and friends. We cater to a wide range of occasions, including welcome and farewell parties, year-end and New Year's parties, reunions, and family celebrations.

However, for such important events, organizers often worry about meals when some participants have food allergies. This is a critical issue directly related to an individual's health and cannot be treated as a simple matter of preference. We are sincerely committed to handling allergy concerns so that our guests can fully enjoy their private event in Moriyama.

  • Will guests with allergies be able to participate safely?
  • How can we meet everyone's needs when selecting the menu?
  • What if someone accidentally consumes an allergen?
  • As the organizer, can I provide the right information and coordinate effectively with the venue?

To eliminate these anxieties and help you thoroughly enjoy your private event in Moriyama, we'd like to introduce our approach. As an izakaya in Umeda-cho, we do our utmost to ensure everyone leaves with a smile.

Turning Private Events in Moriyama into a Worry-Free Experience with Meticulous Allergy Support

At our restaurant, we consider allergy support one of our top priorities so that you can enjoy your private event in Moriyama without any worries. We don't just say we can accommodate; we back it up with concrete procedures and a system to ensure your peace of mind. As a Moriyama izakaya, we aim to strike a balance between food safety and enjoyment.

Eliminating Food Anxieties with a Thorough Pre-Event Consultation

When you book, we start by asking the organizer if any guests have allergies and gather detailed information about them (e.g., the 7 specified raw materials, 21 recommended items, or other disliked ingredients). This careful consultation is the first step toward peace of mind.

  • We use a detailed questionnaire to share information without any oversights.
  • We allocate sufficient time for individual consultations to resolve any questions or concerns.
  • We assign a clear point of contact for the organizer to ensure close communication.

Based on this information, we create an optimal menu plan tailored to each guest. For example, for a guest with a shellfish allergy, we can offer an alternative to our Moriyama station seafood menu that completely excludes shellfish. We pay close attention to every detail to ensure you can enjoy your gathering in Moriyama with confidence.

From Ingredient Selection to Cooking: A Rigorous Management System

As a Moriyama izakaya, we always select the freshest ingredients, including seafood from near Moriyama station. However, for allergy support, we apply even stricter standards.

  • Thorough Ingredient Checks: We meticulously check the allergy information provided by manufacturers for all our ingredients. We inspect every item, down to the last seasoning, for hidden allergens.
  • Dedicated Utensils and Workflows: To prevent cross-contamination between allergenic and non-allergenic ingredients, we use separate cooking utensils, cutting boards, and frying oil. We have also designed our kitchen workflow to minimize the risk of secondary contamination.
  • Staff Awareness and Training: Allergy information shared during booking is thoroughly communicated to all kitchen staff. The chefs in charge accurately understand the allergens in each menu item and prepare food with the utmost care. We also conduct regular training to keep their knowledge up-to-date.

Through this comprehensive management system, we promise to provide the trust and peace of mind expected of an Umeda-cho izakaya. We spare no effort to ensure everyone can safely enjoy our delicious food.

Peace of Mind on the Day of Your Event: Attentive Guidance from Our Staff

When you're gathered to enjoy delicious food at your Moriyama event, we want you to be completely worry-free. Our support system on the day of the event is also fully prepared.

  • Served on Individual Plates: Allergy-friendly meals are served on separate plates to distinguish them from other dishes. We take care to make them visually reassuring as well.
  • Direct Explanation from Staff: When serving the meal, our staff will directly inform the guest that it is an allergy-friendly dish and reconfirm the contents, further reducing the risk of accidental consumption.
  • Emergency Response System: In case of an emergency, we have a response procedure shared among all staff to ensure a swift reaction. We also conduct regular drills to be prepared for any situation.

We provide attentive service so you can fully enjoy our seasonal seafood along with our selection of Moriyama sake. Seeing each and every guest smile is our greatest joy.

Flexible Menu Adjustments and Alternatives—Only Possible with a Private Booking

One of the major attractions of our private events in Moriyama is the flexibility to adjust the menu according to your requests. Especially for allergy support, we leverage the nature of private bookings to provide meticulous, personalized service.

Custom-Made Plans That Respond to Your Needs

Individual accommodations that are difficult with our regular izakaya menu are possible with a private event, allowing us to meet more specific requests. In addition to removing allergens, we can also accommodate requests like using more of a particular ingredient or incorporating seasonal foods. For example, for a guest who dislikes a certain vegetable, we can substitute it with another.

  • Creation of completely original menus tailored to guests' health conditions and preferences.
  • Proactive suggestions for desired ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Devising allergy-friendly Japanese dishes that pair well with our Moriyama sake.

This allows both guests with allergies and those without to enjoy highly satisfying dishes together in the same private space. As a Moriyama izakaya, we are here to help you share the joy of food.

A Wide Range of Alternative Menus and a Reliable Confirmation Process

We believe that allergy-friendly meals should not only be free of allergens but also delicious and visually appealing. That's why we focus on offering a rich variety of alternative menu options.

  1. Abundant Alternative Ingredients: We always have substitutes on hand for common allergens like eggs, dairy, and wheat. We can propose creative dishes, such as those made with rice flour or plant-based meats.
  2. Balance of Flavor and Presentation: Our allergy-friendly dishes are prepared with the same attention to beautiful presentation and balanced flavor as our regular menu items. We ensure that these special meals harmonize with the overall table setting.
  3. Thorough Final Confirmation: We provide double assurance by reconfirming allergen details with you before cooking. When serving, our staff will once again explain the dish to alleviate any concerns.

Even for courses based on our Moriyama station seafood, we can flexibly change the type of fish or substitute it with a meat dish according to the allergy. As an izakaya in Umeda-cho, we strive to provide service that is attentive to each individual guest.

Practical Steps to a Successful Private Event in Moriyama

Here is a guide to the process, from booking to the day of your event, concerning allergy support when you plan a private event at our restaurant. We'll help you prepare smoothly and reduce the organizer's burden.

Step 1: Share Allergy Information When Booking or Inquiring

  1. First, contact us by phone or through our website's inquiry form to let us know you'd like a private booking, along with the approximate number of guests and your desired date.
  2. At that time, please mention that you require allergy support or write it in the notes section of the inquiry form.
  3. If you know any guests have specific allergies, please provide as much detail as possible (e.g., eggs, milk, wheat, buckwheat, peanuts, shrimp, crab, including items beyond the 7 specified raw materials).
  4. Informing us of any disliked ingredients or dietary restrictions due to religious reasons at this stage will also help streamline the process.

Sharing detailed information at this initial stage leads to a smoother process later on.

Step 2: Detailed Consultation with a Dedicated Coordinator

  1. After your inquiry, our dedicated allergy support coordinator will have a detailed consultation with the event organizer. This can be done in person, over the phone, or online.
  2. Based on the allergy information provided, we will adjust the private event course menu and make specific proposals for allergy-friendly meals.
  3. We will present concrete options, such as how we can arrange our popular Moriyama station seafood or what kind of alternative dishes we can prepare.
  4. At this stage, please also let us know your budget and any other requests (e.g., all-you-can-drink options, surprise arrangements, selecting Moriyama sake brands).

We will carefully listen to all your requests and work with you to create the perfect plan.

Step 3: Final Menu and Guest Count Confirmation

  1. Once you are satisfied with the proposed allergy-friendly menu and the overall course content, we will finalize the menu. At this time, you can review a final menu proposal that includes allergen information.
  2. A few days before the event, please provide the final number of attendees and a final confirmation of guests with allergies. We will do our best to accommodate last-minute changes, but we appreciate your early cooperation.
  3. As an Umeda-cho izakaya, this final confirmation is crucial for us to deliver a comfortable gathering in Moriyama for everyone.

Through this final check, we ensure everything is ready for you to enjoy your private event in Moriyama with peace of mind.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Private Event in Moriyama with Confidence

  1. On the day of your event, our staff will guide you smoothly to your seats. Relax in your private space without worrying about other customers.
  2. We will explain the contents of the allergy-friendly meals again when we serve them for your confirmation. We will speak directly to the guests with allergies and provide a more detailed explanation.
  3. Enjoy delicious food and pleasant conversation to your heart's content with our Moriyama sake in hand. If you have any questions or requests, please do not hesitate to ask our staff.

We will do our utmost to help make your private event in Moriyama a wonderful and memorable day.

Creating a Memorable Time with Your Private Event in Moriyama: Our Commitment to Allergy Support

We don't just want to serve delicious food; we want to provide a time where every single guest can feel truly at ease and happy. We believe that for a special occasion like a private event in Moriyama, anxiety about allergies should never diminish the enjoyment. Our commitment to allergy support is a cornerstone of our restaurant's philosophy, ensuring everyone can gather around the table with a smile and that we continue to be a beloved Moriyama izakaya for our local community.

The charm of our restaurant is multifaceted, from the freshness of our Moriyama station seafood and our selection of Moriyama sake to the cozy atmosphere unique to an Umeda-cho izakaya. However, all of this is built on the foundation of our customers' food safety. We will continue to spare no effort to reduce the worries of organizers and ensure that all participants can finish their gathering in Moriyama with a smile. When considering a private banquet, please don't hesitate to consult with us about your allergy needs. We will help make your special day the best it can be.

All of us here look forward to welcoming you for your private event in Moriyama.
